Zooming and Panning Fast in Blender

How do you adjust your view of the model you are working on quickly?

These tips get things done quicker:

To zoom in and out: Roll Mouse Wheel – Roll the mouse wheel

To Orbit the viewport: Middle Press Dtag – Press the middle mouse wheel and drag

If the orbit that you selected doesn’t quite give you the roll you want: Middle Press Dtag – Move the mouse to a different position and then press the middle mouse wheel and drag

To Pan around the Viewport: Middle Press Dtag – Press the middle mouse wheel and drag while pressing Shift key

If the model disappears: Press Home Key and the whole scene with lots of space around it will appear in the viewport

To zoom up on an object: Select it and press

To zoom into 2D Orthographic Top View: Press Numpad 7 key

To zoom into 2D Orthographic Bottom View: Press Ctrl KeyNumpad 7 key

To zoom into 2D Orthographic Front View: Press 1 Key

To zoom into 2D Orthographic Rear View: Press Ctrl Key1 Key

To zoom into 2D Orthographic Left View: Press Numpad-3 key

To zoom into 2D Orthographic Right View: Press Ctrl KeyNumpad-3 key

To change from 2D Ortho View to 3D Perspective view : Middle Press Dtag – Press the middle mouse wheel and drag
