The Extrude tool in Blender is a simple, often-used tool that extends the geometry length by adding extra geometry instead of changing the size. Extrude works in Edit mode with Faces, Edges and Vertices, but it works slightly differently for each.
In edit mode, select the face that needs extruding and press “E”. In my baby blender brain, I imagine that I have tied a rope onto the face, and I pull until it comes out.
Do I use the knife tool to cut out a new face on each of the sides? No! that will not work. “Use your head Baby Fred” that little voice tells me, but my head is so sore from all the knocks that I cannot think straight any longer.
